Filtering the object list

In addition to filtering the object list by global fields (see Tutorial) it can also be filtered by a string using the text input line at the bottom of the form. The filter applies to the entry of the key field of the objects. Within the filter string a * can be used as a wildcard (but only once). If the filter string contains upper case letters the filter works case sensitive, otherwise not. Examples:

c
only objects with an key field entry that starts with c are displayed, e.g. Cabernet Sauvignon
*saint
only objects with an key field entry that contains the string saint are displayed, e.g. Chateau Saint Germain
Cha*Saint
only objects with an key field entry that starts with Cha and contains the string Saint are displayed, e.g. again Chateau Saint Germain. In this case the filter works case sensitive, so chateau Saint Germain would not be dislayed.
