Selecting an object

An object can be selected by tapping on it. The selected object will be marked by small filled squares. A selected object can be moved, modified, copied or deleted. Also, the attributes (line style and fill pattern) of a selected object can be changed and the drawing level of the object can be set to foreground or background.
If two or more objects are too close together or overlapping, another than the intended object may be selected on tapping. In this case use the select button to switch between all possible selections until the intended object is found.

The active part of a selected object

A selected object is marked by small filled squares. Depending on where the object has been tapped a certain part of the object is marked as active by an larger open square. The active part can be for
lines: a point on the line or one of the two ends
rectangles: the center of the rectangle, the center of an edge or a corner
continuous lines: the center of an edge or a vertice
Ellipses/circles: are treated in the same manner as rectangles
text: the first charcter of the text

Moving an object

By tapping on the move/modify button you can switch between the move mode and the modify mode . Set the move mode and then select the object you want to be moved. The object will be marked. Now tap on the new coordinate to move the object.
An object is moved such that its active part (e.g. a corner of a rectangle or an end of a line) will be located at the new coordinate. Together with the snap feature this can be used to exactly align different objects, e.g. the ends of two lines.

Modifying a graphic object

By tapping on the move/modify button you can switch between the move mode and the modify mode . Set the modify mode and then select the object you want to modify. If you now tap on a new coordinate only the active part of the selected object (e.g. a corner of a rectangle) will be moved to this place. Try it out to see how it works for the different grafic objects.

Modifying a text object

To modify a text object (i.e. to change its text) select it and then tap on the text button. The text field opens and the text of the object is displayed. Edit it and then tap anywhere in the drawing area to reassign the new text to the object.

Changing the attributes of an object

To change the attributes of an object (its line type or fill pattern) select it and then use the line type button or the fill pattern button to assign the new attribute.

Deleting an object

To delete an object, select it and then tap the delete button .

Copying an object

Copying an object works in the same way as moving an object, with the only difference that not the object itself but a copy of it will be placed at the new position. To copy an object select it and then tap on the copy button . Then tap on the coordinate where you want the copy to be placed.
repeat mode: if the copy button is pressed twice whith an object selected, the copy feature is set into the repeat mode which will be indicated by an inverted display of the button . Each further tap on the screen now places a new copy of the selected object. This does also works with a group of selected objects.
The repeat mode can be switched off by again pressing the copy button.

Selecting a group of objects (multi select)

A group of objects can be selected simultaneously by drawing a 'select' rectangle around the objects. All objects that are completely located inside the rectangle will be selected. The select rectangle is defined in same manner as a usual rectangle by tapping two opposite corners.

To start a select rectangle you can either tap on a free area of the display for the first corner or tap the select button before tapping for the first corner. In either case no object must be selected before starting multi select (use the refresh button to deselect all objects).

As with a single object, a group of objects can be moved (see below), copied, deleted and moved to the foreground or to the background. Also the attributes (line type or fill pattern) of all objects of the group can be set simultaneously.

Moving a group of objects

To move a group of objects tap again on one of the marked objects to define the active part of the group (e.g. a corner of a rectangle). Then tap on the new coordinate. The group will be moved so that the active part will be located at the new coordinate.
